Wow... three months since I journaled here... ok, I guess life really gets in the way.

A little over three weeks to SDCC... I haven't had the time to actually think about it this time... too much chaos around. But, well, let's see how it goes.

I had to skip this week's Line due to some of that chaos... I usually take pride in not missing any weeks, and it's been two this year already. But all the sampling and stuff should pay off.

In the meantime, a rare opportunity, should you be curious about those Elephantmen yours truly keeps talking about... there's a big EM sale at Comixology, ending next monday June 26th:

www.comixology.com/Elephantmen…

All digital collections and single issues at 50%... yes, I know, nobody likes advertising, but, well, if you have a virtual dollar or two and would like to try something new, my work starts appearing at issue 25... 51-55 are a highlight... 36-39 are not bad either... 65-69 are a blast... 47-49 have my most ambitious space scenes... oh, well, I'm just ranting... if you just feel like browing, you can preview a few pages of each issue.

Back here before SDCC... have a nice weekend, folks!

TLIID 336. RIP Adam West
Girls and boys, for obvious reasons this is a special week at The Line it is Drawn... we'll be back with the scheduled theme for this one next week.

Yes, I did watch the reruns of Batman religiously. And no, I never felt it silly or cheesy... it just was a great, fun half hour every time. Thanks for everything, Mr West.

And, yes, I drew this one as my daily sketch of this past saturday, but schedules are tight and I'm fond of recycling.

TLLID 345. Phineas and Ferb and Watchmen
Girls and boys, this is Watchmen week at The Line it is Drawn!

The idea was to go with the worst possible crossovers for Watchmen, those who could make Dave Gibbons cringe and ask: why? Alan Moore will just ignore us, anyway.

Oh, well... Phineas and Ferb is one of my favorite tv shows ever, so, there you go...

TLIID 344. Wonder Woman in Batman 183
Girls and boys, its Wonder Woman week in The Line it is Drawn, and we put her in famous comic book covers.

I liked the suggestion of this classic cover of Batman goofing off:

TLIID 343. Dreaded Pirate Baymax and friends
Girls and boys, this is pirate week at The Line it is Drawn!

I think this is the fourth time I draw this particular group of gentlemen... I'm pretty sure there are lots of fun interactions in their adventures. Oh, well...

Hi Axel, just saw in Previews that Elephantmen will begin his last story arc with issue 77.
Can you give any information how long it will approximately run and do you have any plans what you will do afterwards?

I would just love if you and Richard Starkings created a new book together, since you two seem to work so well together.
You've definitely become THE Elephantmen artist for me.

Thanks so much for the support and nice comments!

So, yes, the cat's out of the bag... I wasn't planning on making a big fuzz (or maybe I'm still getting used to the idea), but, as it says, the series will end with issue 80, which will be a special one. My last three issues will be 77-79 (76 is by Boo Cook).

As for what comes after that... well... I'm sending a lot of messages in bottles, let's see who answers...
