Spring heeled Jack by AxelMedellin Spring heeled Jack by AxelMedellin
Ever heard that story? It's one of my favorite mysteries, some weird character that haunted the streets of London in the late 19th century (named after the other famous Jack)... they described him (or it) as wearing a cape and silver helmet, with red glowing eyes and the ability to jump at superhuman heights...

Love that kind of stories...

I wonder if it was a colony of ants that built Jack the then. Because it seems this machine was built in their image.

Wow. Really, really detailed... I WANT to draw like that! *sniffs*
But I AM writing a movie script with Jack as the villain... he's more human in mine, though. Do you know what kind of writing things are compatible with deviantart? I tried using Microsoft Works Word Processor, but it went all funny.

It´s really awesome, specially since it does look kind of aged... The only thing is that I find it´s arms a bit too small, such inmense legs deserve at the very least bigger arms or a bigger head...

Springheel Jack is an awesome story. Everyone always forgets that he was purported to also breathe blue fire, though.
Cool reference for a mech name. Very nice pic.

Man, I love your conceptual robot work! I suppose those spikes coming out of the back are antennae? Perhaps he uses them to keep in touch with the other SH-Jacks? Xp

(En un enlace de la wikipedia viene una empresa que vende en la actualidad un artilugio para ir dando saltos como el hombre este... :))

I wish to know more of this story.

Would you kindly indulge?

This thing also reminds me vaguely of one of my designed bots:

Though it only has one large spring/stilt on each foot. It's bronze armor and makes movement a bit lanky: though the wearer is so disjointed and strange that with swirling motions and strange prancing: he can walk just fine: though he can't do any fine movements.

Once again, full armor, bronze and silver. Spring loaded stilts for a huge jump: and two matching revolvers to go with his armor; and an O-katana. Not a standard thing: vigilante. With that kind of technology there would be much more effective things that could be made than that: which was made for symbolism. Has his symbol (undecided) on the front of the chest, plain as day.

Yeah... I don't have a whole lot more than that.

Anyway: great picture, want to hear about this story you speak of.

There's a lot about that story... more than I know, undoubtly... some say the thing was sort of a protector, that scared the shit out of evil doers by appearing from nowhere and disappearing by jumping at impossible heights. Some say it simply scared however was in its path. I haven't read about it ever hurting anyone (and it didn't need to, the apparition was enough to freeze the blood in the veins), and the theories range from it being an alien to a crazy scientist to a demon. one never knows...

Heck yeah!

Here's a request if you're up to it.

I'm asking if you could make a new Spring Heeled Jack that's based off of the description of him from the article.

The black cloak, a white body to immitate the tight "like oilskin" suit, the red eyes, the spouting flames from the mouth, the claws.

Yeah. Well: you have the link. It sounds like he looked very mechanical to me with the strange helmet.

I think this is a job for...

WIKIPEDIA! What I concider the Earth equivalent the The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy. A repository of any and most knowledge.

If that doesn't work then I guess I can ask the local librarians.

saludos
