Description
Girls and boys, this week at The Line it is Drawn, we wish you a Happy Halloween by mixing up comic books and famous horror stories. I went with this suggestion because I love drawing the Creature From the Black Lagoon. There you go.

Decades ago, when I was in junior high, I was fascinated by the Gill-Man to the point I tried to draw my own monthly comic book. I had many story outlines planned: The overriding story arc was, the Creach had to sabotage a construction company trying to destroy the rain-forest to build a hotel. Individual tales were to have him fight an ancient Incan mummified warrior, were-jaguars, the robot guardian of "Ancient Astronauts", and a Great White Hunter in a super-exoskeletal diving suit, among other things. Yes, I was bursting with creativity!
Many years later, I looked back on this childhood desire and realized: The "Construction" arc was stolen whole from the "F. A. Schist draining the swamp for an airport" scenario in Marvel's MAN-THING comic. And the Incan warrior was basically the Aztec Mummy from the Mexican film series. And the robot was pretty much "the Sentry Sinister" from FANTASTIC FOUR. And the Hunter was certainly reminiscent of Kraven from SPIDER-MAN.
"Day-yum! Creativity? I didn't have an original bone in my body!" I exclaimed sadly.
At least there are people like you who do! Good job!
